The Ubud village is located in Bali, a Small island province of Indonesia. It reflects the traditional culture of that area as well as the beauty of nature at its prime. It is also called the spiritual heartland, and signifies unique natural beauty and tranquility of that area.
It has many natural and captivating sites that are bound to hold you enthralled and remain with you much after you have left it.
Here are some of the highlights of my little experience at The Four Seasons Sayan located in Ubad.
My first impression on arrival
From my initial study, I knew that it would be a beautiful place but what I saw on arrival was so completely unexpected that it simply took my breath away. It was one of the most spectacular entrances of any hotel that I have ever come across. To reach the hotel we had to actually cross a lovely little wooden bridge that went over a pristine forest. What a sight! It was something straight out of some fantasy fairy tale movie.
The reception at the lobby was also extraordinary, as we were given a very hearty welcome and offered a cold watermelon juice, which was just the thing that we wanted after coming from a slightly warm weather outside.
The resort is located right in the centre of a rural jungle and has acres of lush green paddy fields all around. We were told that almost everything that is required in the resort is grown locally, and the resort is almost self sufficient as far as daily supplies were concerned.
The Four Seasons Resort has almost 60 suites as well as thoughtfully designed private Villas. The Jungle suite is very comfortable and gives a feel of being right in the middle of a forest living in the lap of nature. The rooms have all the amenities as expected and there is an unmistaken aroma of flowers all around as the Indonesians are very fond of burning candles as well as incense sticks.
The sacred river Spa
This is perhaps the most important place that you must see while you are at the Four Seasons Sayan. The concept is based on the ancient Buddhist beliefs and practices. Spending a few hours out here is a very energizing and relaxing experience.
All the treatments at the Spa a given by trained professionals and you would feel very light and energized thereafter.
The pool within the resort is beautifully designed and you can spend many hours there just relaxing on the sun-beds, enjoying snacks served hot from the poolside bar. The menu consists of many exotic dishes made from sea food.
The main restaurant of the hotel called “The Ayung Terrace” has a curved balcony which juts out into the trees and gives a feel as if you are dining inside a forested area. The menu once again lists some of most exotic seafood and the intercontinental dishes which are sure to bowl you over.
All in all, the visit to Resort is a very satisfying experience and I would recommend it to anyone who goes to Indonesia to visit it in order to experience the tranquil surroundings and capture the sights and sounds, the memories of which would remain with you forever,
